_______________________________________________
In the wake of the current global economic downturn, Malaysia’s economic growth is predicted to decline sharply according to the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research. How are large companies and SMEs dealing with the onset of the recession? Will Malaysian corporations emerge stronger and more competitive in the new economic landscape? More crucially, will the recently-announced RM60 billion stimulus plan prove to be an effective countermeasure against the recession?
Join us for an exclusive and informal session with Dato’ Sri Tony Fernandes as he addresses these issues and speaks about how corporate players and industry captains lead their firms during these turbulent times, as well as how companies are taking this opportunity to adapt and reposition themselves to gain a competitive edge in their respective industries.
Dato' Sri Tony Fernandes is Group CEO and founder of Tune Air Sdn. Bhd. He rose to prominence by turning AirAsia – once a company saddled with RM40 million in debt – into a highly successful public-listed company. In 2007, he started a chain of hotels, Tune Hotels which is also based on the same no-frills concept that spurred AirAsia to its success today.
He has received several awards for his outstanding achievements, among them “Malaysian CEO of the Year” awarded by American Express and Business Times in 2003, the International Herald Tribune Award for the “Visionaries & Leadership Series” and Business Week’s “25 Stars of Asia” in 2005.
This session will commence with a short speech by Dato Sri' Tony Fernandes followed by a Q & A session.
Registrations are not required.Seats are limited so do arrive early as this will be based on a first come first serve basis.
