What is Shadow Elected-10 Elections?
The Shadow Elected-8 Elections will see candidates campaigning across a one-week period; after which they will be presenting their manifestos and participate in a Q&A session during the OGM on the 15th of April. The elections will determine 8 different individuals that will shadow the existing Elected-10 members of UKEC Executive Council 2022/23 for their respective positions.
The newly-elected members of the Shadow Elected-10 will work under the tutelage of the current Elected-10 (E10) members throughout a shadow period of 6 months. Nominations are open till 11:59 PM (UKT), 1st April 2023

Incumbent: Syed Rifqi Najmuddin (Wef)
LLB Law, University of Bristol
Sets the tone and direction of the council by aligning the internal & external administration towards a grand scheme.
Oversees and conducts the Council’s advocacy and activism work.
Researches developing current issues as well as producing and analysing survey results on them.
Incumbent: Muhammad Aiman Bin Noor Izan
BSc Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, University of Warwick
Supports the Chairperson with internal operations and external relations.
Acts as the President of Supreme Council by ensuring healthy relationship with the representatives of Malaysian Societies.
Looks into developing greater engagement with student societies by working on new initiatives that can better assist these societies.
Incumbent: Wong Qi En
BSc Accounting and Finance, London School of Economics and Political Science
- Ensures smooth operation of the council.
- Oversees all council work and projects and the delegation of tasks to the Executive Council members.
- Handles external enquiries and emails.
- Organises UKEC’s Ordinary General Meeting as well as the Annual General Meeting.
- In charge of producing templates and forms, meeting minutes, organising paperwork and documents and producing UKEC’s Annual Report.
Incumbent: Low Kian Jin
BSc Economics, University of Warwick
- Handles the finances and maintains relationship with sponsors.
- Responsible for the organization’s financial statements.
- Allocates and distributes funds for each of the branch.
- Ensures the sustainability of UKEC’s fundings for daily operations and flagship events.
Incumbent: Sreedda Harichandran,
MEng Biotechnological Engineering, Imperial College London
- Act as the career arm of UKEC.
- Aims to tackle Malaysia’s brain drain problem.
- Improves the employability of Malaysian students studying in the UK and Ireland.
- Spearheads UKEC-GRADUAN The Malaysian Career Fair in London.
- Creating a platform for exclusive employability opportunities through Corporate Luncheon
- Improves the employability of Malaysian students studying in the UK and Ireland through regional career events
Incumbent: Lim Chai Jin,
MBChB Medicine, University of Sheffield
- Ensuring adequate welfare of Malaysian-based societies and Malaysian students studying across the UK and Ireland.
- Provides a platform for the Malaysian students to give back to the community by instilling the spirit of volunteerism.
- Responsible for the council’s welfare by ensuring the wellbeing of council members.
- Assists Secretariat Office with task delegation to ensure it is balanced amongst council members.
- Spearheads UKEC’s [i]MPACT Stories and Regional Care for All Events
Incumbent: Lee Cheng Jie,
BA (Hons.) Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, University of Manchester
- Provide platforms for intellectual discussions and promote a culture of open discourse amongst students.
- Elevate youth voices to influence decision-making regarding Malaysian issues.
- Raise awareness and understanding on current issues to shape an informed and educated youth.
- Spearheads Projek Amanat Negara, one of UKEC’s flagship event.
- Oversees CEKU articles publication.
- Organises regional events known as “Coffee and Conversations” to stimulate intellectual discourse
Incumbent: Audra Qistina Binti Azli
LLB Law, Cardiff University
- Ensures constant communication and outreach to students via social media platforms.
- Provides consistency to brand promotion.
- Promotes our events through digital marketing.
- Advises and facilitates your respective team members in designing posters, newsletters as well as creating videos and updating information on the website.
What are the Regional Chairpersons Shadow Elections?
Similar to the Shadow Elected-10 Elections, the Shadow Regional Chairpersons Elections will see candidates campaigning across a one-week period; after which they will be presenting their manifestos and participate in a Q&A session during the first day of OGM (9th of April). The elections will determine 13 different individuals that will shadow the existing Regional Chairpersons of UKEC Executive Council 2021/22 for their respective regions.
The newly elected members of the Shadow Council will work under the tutelage of the current Regional Chairpersons (RCs) throughout a shadow period of 6 months. Nominations are open till 11:59 PM (UKT), 1st April 2022.
Who can run for RC?
Anyone can run for Regional Chairperson! You don’t need to be an existing UKEC Council member to run.
What is the role of an RC?
The Regional Chairpersons represent UKEC in each of the 13 regions and is the link between the Supreme Councillors in the regions and UKEC.
The Regional Chairpersons are expected to:
- Consult regional Malaysian Societies by offering advise and expertise to help improve their operations and strategy.
- Assist with the operations of the Executive Council for flagship events like Projek Amanat Negara (PAN), UKEC-GRADUAN The Malaysian Career Fair and Malaysian Student Leaders’ Summit (MSLS).
- Organise regional events which include most if not all Malaysian Societies in the region such as Malaysian Games (MGames), career-related events (RCEs), cares-related initiatives (CFAs), intellectual workshops (Pre/Post-PAN) and volunteering activities.

Public Motion Debate Form
Public motions are motions that you may raise regarding issues that you think UKEC should take a stance on or pursue.
Both UKEC Supreme Councillors and members of the public are encouraged to submit public motions to be debated during Ordinary General Meeting.
Public motions form will be open till 8th April 2023.
