UKECHAIRS OFFICE
The function of this office varies slightly from those of other offices. Rather than having fixed projects to conduct throughout the term, this office works on an ad hoc basis on initiatives carried out by the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson. This office oversees and conducts the Council’s advocacy and activism work which includes researching developing current issues as well producing and analysing survey results on them. Beyond that, the office also looks into developing greater engagement with student societies by working on new initiatives that can better assist these societies.
Roles of the Chairperson
● Sets the tone and direction of the council by aligning the internal & external administration of it towards a grand scheme
● Spearheads the distinguished annual Malaysian Student Leaders’ Summit (MSLS)
Roles of the Deputy Chairperson
● Acts as the President of the Supreme Council by ensuring healthy relationship with the representatives of Malaysian Societies
● Forms the main bridge between UKEC and all the Malaysian students in UK & Eire
Roles of the Special Operations Officer
● Acts as the Chief of Staff to the Chairperson and handles the internal operations of the council
● Spearheads the UKEC Leadership Exploration and Development Programme (LEAD)
SECRETARIAT & STRATEGY OFFICE
The secretariat office is the engine of UKEC dealing with administrative aspects of the organisation that keeps the council up and running, as well as overseeing all the behind the scenes work.
Our work includes the oversight of the delegation of tasks to the Executive Council members, dealing with external enquiries and e-mail, organising UKEC’s Ordinary General Meeting as well as the Annual General Meeting and recording meeting minutes. Apart from that, we are in charge of producing templates and forms, storing paperwork and documents and lastly, producing UKEC’s Annual Report.
Roles of the General Secretary
● Ensures smooth operation of the council by enforcing the Standard Operating Procedure
● Overlooks all projects and initiatives to maintain the quality of the output
TREASURY OFFICE
The Treasury Office is the financial controller for UKEC, with the approval of the chairman we are the body within UKEC that allocates and distributes funds for each of the branch (ie UKECareers). Our main objective is to maintain sustainability of funds for UKEC daily operation and flagship. The Treasury Office is also the arm of UKEC that liaisons and approach Corporate Companies already or are interested in becoming our sponsors.
Roles of the National Treasurer
● Handles the finances and maintains relationship with sponsors
● Responsible for the organization’s financial statements
UKECAREERS OFFICE
UKECareers acts as the careers and employability arm of the UKEC. Our main mission is to tackle brain drain back in Malaysia by providing young and talented Malaysian graduates in the UK and Ireland with the opportunities back home to shine and champion as leaders in their respective fields. UKECareers is also in charge of hosting one of the best careers fair in the world, The Malaysian Careers Fair in partnership with GRADUAN. We strive to not just provide graduates with opportunities back in Malaysia but also be involved by improving the employability skills of Malaysian graduates making us one of the best talent pools for employers.

● Create awareness of the corporate sector in Malaysia
● Allow assess and critical analysis of the Malaysian private sector
● Conduct employability and work-life-balance workshops

UKECATALYST OFFICE
UKECatalyst is the intellectual arm of UKEC. We serve the purpose of nurturing and encouraging young Malaysian intellects in the UK to participate in scholarly discussions as a part to catalyze nation building through youth empowerment. The Catalyst office is the proud organizer of Projek Amanat Negara, the most famous intellectual dialogue for Malaysians in the UK, where it acts as a platform for discourses between student leaders and prominent figures in Malaysia. We also host student dialogues such as In Focus where this gathering of bright young minds will highlight on an issue and construct feasible solutions to resolve issues the nation is facing.
Aims
● Create an impact towards Malaysia by contributing towards change in national policies
● Develop students’ critical thinking through series of fully student conducted dialogue
● Raise awareness of pertinent issues in Malaysia within youths from intellectual discourses
Roles of the Vice-Chairperson of UKECatalyst
● Promotes intellectual discussions to raise awareness and understanding on current issues within students
● Creates platforms for productive discourses to construct solutions for any relevant issues in Malaysia
UKECARES OFFICE
Championing nation building through community development and humanitarian awareness, UKECares serves as the charity and volunteering branch of UKEC. We strive to make our Malaysian community better by educating young Malaysians in the importance of humanitarian values and compassion for others. In the past, we’ve had numerous successful project which are now independent and run on their own, Charisma Movement (formerly known as UKECharisma) being one of them. Currently, we are running the Summer Volunteering Programme, Sharing The Kindness and UKECares Check.
Aims
● To help Malaysians in need both locally and abroad.
● To promote the notion of Malaysian Hospitality to the people of UK and Ireland.
● To contribute back to society through volunteering and charity work.
Roles of the Vice Chairperson of UKECares
● Oversees the office that is accountable for the welfare of the Malaysian students studying across the UK and Ireland
● Provides a platform for charity events and volunteering opportunities
UKECONNECT OFFICE
UKEConnect is responsible for the branding of UKEC and remain as one of the most diverse arm of the council. We strive to reach out to as many Malaysian students as possible in UK and Ireland, and convey what we at UKEC believes- developing student activism and national unity. We at UKEConnect remain open-minded on exploring new avenues in approaching students both at regional and personal level, working hand in hand with Malaysian societies, ensuring that our events remain accessible to students regardless of distance, boundary and portability.

● Using social media as a main tool to further improve outreach to students
● Emphasise on national unity and developing student activism
● Cater to student needs by continually evolving and improving on our events
Roles of the Vice Chairperson of UKEConnect
● Ensures constant communication and outreach to students via social media platforms
● Provides consistency to brand promotion
REGIONAL CHAIRPERSONS OFFICE
The Regional Chairpersons represent UKEC in each region and become the link between the Supreme Councillors in the regions and UKEC. We believe that to strengthen the relationship between UKEC and the Supreme Councillors in these 13 regions, it is crucial to maintain strong support at grassroots level by engaging directly with the Supreme Councillors.
Aims
- Act as a bridge between the UKEC Executive Council and the Supreme Councillors through networking and support
- Work towards ensuring that Malaysian Societies operations are sustainable and that their members welfare are met in their respective regions.
- Establish UKEC presence in respective regions by organising regional initiatives and events.
Roles of the Regional Chairpersons
- Consult regional Malaysian Societies by offering advise and expertise to help improve their operations and strategy.
- Help to connect Supreme Councillors in the respective regions through roundtable meetings organised by the UKEC Executive Council, social media and communication platforms, occasional socials, etc.
- Assist with the operations of the Executive Council for flagship events like Projek Amanat Negara (PAN), UKEC-GRADUAN The Malaysian Career Fair and Malaysian Student Leaders’ Summit (MSLS).
- Organise regional events which include most if not all Malaysian Societies in the region such as Malaysian Games (MGames), career related events (RCE’s), cares related initiatives (CFA’s), intellectual workshops (Pre/Post-PAN) and volunteering activities.
