MYCareers is a career development workshop that is to be held in Cardiff University prior to UKEC’s Graduan Fair that consists of two separate sessions: Professional Development (2nd of March 2019) and Career Talk (23rd March 2019). In this workshop, students will get exposure to the norms and practices of business culture in Malaysia, including communications etiquette; professional and personal boundaries; and what to write (and not write) in an email, cover letter, and/or résumé. As UKEC’s Graduan Fair is an opportunity to establish network and connections, another important aspect that will be focused on is the do’s and dont’s of conversing professionally with employers and contacts at career fairs and other networking opportunities. This workshop will help students to know what to say to employers to sell skills, and be in the mindset of an employer.
