Juliette Tan, an aspiring actress, lands a once-in-a-lifetime role in a production led by renowned director Victor Wong. His vision to revive film noir, along with its cynicism, fatalism, and moral ambiguity, inspires Juliette to put her heart and soul into it. Despite objections from her father as well as fellow cast members, she continues to work hard to make it big; however, when her path takes an abrupt turn, Juliette finds herself jettisoned centre stage, in a film noir of her own. She becomes torn between fulfilling her boundless ambition and staying true to herself.
