Ongoing since 1999, SMG has been a host for excellent sportsmanship and cultural experiences. Having attracted more than 3000 Malaysians, home and internationals of all walks of life during previous years, SMSA continues to organize one of the largest Malaysian Games in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sheffield Malaysian Games 2020 (SMG20).

SMG20 will host a combination of modern, cultural and traditional sports that bring Malaysians from all around the UK to get together, compete and participate in the name of sports. The uniqueness of Malaysian’s traditional games alongside popular modern sports attracts both home and international students to attend and join our event, as participants or even spectators.

Participants and spectators that gather around in this event are also welcomed to our Malaysian Food Festival that will be held alongside SMG20, which is a series of stalls selling authentic Malaysian cuisine. In addition to fulfilling the cravings of Malaysians for their long-missed country food, the Malaysian culture could easily be learnt as well as enjoyed by locals and internationals through various cuisines specially served for the MFF.

SMG20 will be held on the Saturday 15th of February 2020 in which will be help on the same weekend as our other event, NEXT20 which will be on the 16th of February 2020. With both events combined on that particular weekend, we announce it as our ‘Weekend in Sheffield 2020’.
