What is UKEC LEAD?
Aligned with UKEC’s direction on Nation Building Through Youth Empowerment, UKEC LEAD aims to be a platform for Malaysian students to develop practical skills while contributing to the society by embarking on their own projects. It is a platform where students will be encouraged to submit their own proposals ranging from entrepreneurial to social projects. Subsequently, the chosen projects will be provided with mentors from relevant industries on top of receiving a comprehensive training by Michael Teoh from Thriving Talents to develop the projects further.
What can I gain from the leadership camp?
Conducted by Michael Teoh from Thriving Talents, the leadership camp will be held from 26th to 28th of January 2018 at Education Malaysia with meals and accommodation provided throughout the programme. The camp would comprise of trainings and simulations for students to develop the practical skills needed. It will also be a platform where participants could get more insights on challenges that are faced in Malaysia to encourage participants to embark on their own project for UKEC LEAD.
Who is Michael Teoh?
An Educator at Heart, and an Entrepreneur in mind, Michael Teoh has combined both his Passion and Profession as the Founder of Thriving Talents, an international award-winning talent development company, with a rich clientele of Fortune 500 companies, spreading across 39 countries, with their track-record of having trained more than 100,000 young leaders to lead their organisations and societies better, since 2012. He is the Global Advisor for Microsoft ‘YouthSpark’ in Seattle, U.S.A., the Economic & Entrepreneurship Advisor to the World Youth Government in Geneva, Switzerland, a Board Member with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Malaysia, and the Board Member of the Student Volunteers Foundation of Malaysia, owned by the Ministry of Higher Education since 2012.
He has shared the stage speaking globally with icons like Virgin’s Sir Richard Branson, Father of Social Business Prof. Muhd Yunus, Rockstar Legend Sir Bob Geldof, AirAsia’s Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver, World’s No.1 Leadership Coach Dr. Marshall Goldsmith and had even received a special visit by President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak during a workshop organised by Microsoft, in which Michael was a Coach & Facilitator.Michael was recently inducted into the AIESEC Alumni Hall of Fame in Poland, joining luminaries like Bill Clinton and Bono, whilst being an Honorary Inductee into the Golden Key Society, U.S.A , and an Associate Fellow with the Royal Commonwealth Society, U.K. Michael has obtained his tertiary education from New Zealand, aside from attending educational courses in Harvard University, Stanford University and INSEAD.
