MALAYSIAN STUDENT LEADER'S  SUMMIT

Intellectual engagements, bold conversations.

The Malaysian Student Leaders’ Summit (MSLS), a flagship event of the UKEChairs Office, and the only flagship event held in Malaysia, will celebrate its 19th edition in 2025.

This summit aims to nurture future leaders through open and non-partisan intellectual discourse. Attracting 500-700 students annually, this event enables engagement with prominent Malaysian figures, fostering greater student involvement in critical national issues.

Stay tuned for the upcoming chapter of the upcoming edition of the Malaysian Student Leaders’ Summit, where we aim to ignite conversations that matter and empower students to make a difference.

MALAYSIAN HEALTHCARE REFORM FORUM

Building bridges towards home together.

The Malaysian Healthcare Reform Forum 2024 was a forum designed to address pressing issues within Malaysia’s healthcare system, offering a platform for open discussion and impactful solutions. It focused on bridging the gap between overseas and local healthcare professionals, improving regulatory processes, and finding sustainable reforms. By engaging with experts and stakeholders, this forum aims to support a healthcare system that can retain and value Malaysian talent.

Underlying this event is UKEC’s dedication and unwavering commitment to address brain drain, helping students in ways ranging from understanding the factors behind the “brain drain” of overseas-trained professionals to tackling the issues faced by locally trained doctor, shedding light on pathways for sustainable reform.

UKEC  ASPIRE

Uplifting the Malaysian student community.

The UKEChairs Office, steadfast in its commitment towards innovative initiatives to uplift the Malaysian student community, founded the UKEC Aspires initiative. This initiative seeks to empower the Malaysian student community to create projects that spark creativity, solve challenges, and to unite Malaysian students abroad. To aid the students in this endeavour, UKEC is providing upwards of 500 pounds in grants to fund the project, alongside providing access to tailored resources and support. Participants would also be able to bolster their own development by gaining leadership skills and confidence to lead in various areas, including thinking outside the box and venturing outside comfort zones. This project, like many more to come, seeks to unite Malaysian students abroad to create a ripple effect of change within the Malaysian student community across the UK & Ireland.
